Hand therapy is the science and art of evaluating and treating conditions and injuries of the upper extremities to include shoulder, arm, elbow, forearm, wrist and hand. It evolved from the need for therapists with specialized knowledge and experience required to manage the complex and challenging recovery of hand and upper extremity injuries.

A Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) is an occupational therapist or physical therapist who has a minimum of three years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy.The hand therapists at Moreau Physical Therapy have advanced continuing educations, clinical experience and integrated knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, physiology and kinesiology.
